Autumn's Bouquet

 

 

 

 

 

                            In amber tones from misty jade green

                           she makes her move onto the scene

                           in all her bare beauty, yet fully dressed

                           in golden hues she's at her best

                           scarlet shades of red,and deep burgundy provide

                           a picturesque view to capture our eyes

                          An autumn queen dons her royal purple robe

                          amidst yellow leaves entwined 'pon her clothes

                          and  sprink'ling  rain adds a fresh wet scent

                         'tis autumn's parfume from the heavens sent

                          with a sapphire mixture of her cool crisp air

                         'tis autumn's warm bouquet worn in her hair

                          yes, oh  yes, the heart is there.

A very pleasing personification of the autumn season here. Fall is known for its lavish beauty, and the poet presents its appearance as a royal fashion show. All the splendid colors are depicted as part of the queen's wardrobe. An interesting touch is that of rain as her perfume, although the splendid aroma of burning leaves might be another choice. After the brutal heat of this past July, fall could come dressed in beggar's rags and I would still welcome it.

Love! Love! Love! Autumn sentiments are my favorite & you've done a superb job of personifying her in all her glory, bringing us reminders of all the senses being piqued. I love the flow & gentle wording, like the swishing of chiffon as the lines float along like falling leaves. This is one of the best descriptions of autumn I've read lately & there have been dozens.

my heart is always with autumn....and with this woman you describe, she surely knows how to make an entrance, without trying to...this is a reminder of the subtle beauty some women have..they are gorgeous without knowing it...it just exudes naturally.

Gorgeous Detail. Vibrant specs of color flows through the whole poem. It's so elegant. I've never read a poem quite like this one. It leaves a fresh aroma that will probably stick with me forever that's how well this was penned.
