The Bold and The Brave

 

They are our Soldiers
 fighting with dignity
and truce at hand
believing in that
for which they stand
 
They are our Warriors
Bold, Brave and True
venturing on to victory
in honor of our flag that flies
ever high,
Red, White and Blue
 
They are our Troops
who hear the bomb's crude blast
answering ~'Let Freedom Ring'
'we're here to man the task'
 
They are our Blood
coursing thru~ our veins
Conquering with Valor and Pride
Carrying on America's name
 
They are our Heroes
who died in Battle's rough
and we'll all be standing
for THOSE who stood for us
 
Yes! They are the Forces
combined, America's Fighting Machine
with courage in war's steep terrain
Their Brawn and Mettle, wins
us peace of mind,the only thing
that keeps America free and strong!

this was beautiful. such a wonderful piece honoring us service members. i appreciate you for writing this. it truly goes deep into my heart. these pieces always put tears to my eyes. because my other half, as well as myself, are both in the service and it just feels really good that there are people that understand, the reality we all go through.

how about you write (for example) 'they are the blood coursing through our veins'?
