The sky was a grey canvas lacking zest awaiting an artist's touch~ perhaps some splashes of bright aqua blues
A few sacred leaves thin as tissue paper with precious little life, still trying to cling to undressed trees which temporarily lost their green splendor, started drifting down to the ice-covered ground
All life below proved to be in suspended animation 'twas no escape from winter's barren stage now desolate, empty and so void of all color.
Icy winds blew~ launching whiirling snowfkaes into a blustery blizzard
For a moment I hesitated and held the thought wondering if I could change the scenery
I imagine holding a bucket of blue paint and almost forgetting~ I grab some yellow from an imaginary palette and toss it into the air
Just a creative thought of color in my mind's eye,but 'Alas Mother Nature shall have her way
Very colorful and such a lovely wintery write.. but all the paint as you say so well .. cannot change Mother Natures mind..'Alas Mother Nature shall have her way'.
Beautiful, Fran.
Very good use of imagery and a very marvelous piece indeed. I am experiencing this barren stage of winter as we speak, as most of us probably are. The trees are crystalized with ice and the snow glitters like a frozen and slick-edged jewel. It is desolate and devoid of the beautiful colors that are so necessary for life to be worth living. Did you know that there are people who get depressed because of snow and ice? You have a couple spelling errors in this piece. Run it through a word processor's spell check.
As the wind has been roaring past my window all night, and it is cold out, I could relate well to your words. I never enjoy the lackluster shades of winter, but they do make spring and summer all that more appealing!! Good write.
Unfortunately , Mother Nature always has her way....but for all the adverse conditions we have to endure from the weather, she usually makes up for it with spring and all it's blooming glory. Delightful little write Fran. Very good. Love...Liz
