Magic Moon

Magic Moon

A Poem by Fran Marie

Magic Moon

~The Villianelle Form~

Sweet music play for me a tune
and I'll twirl 'round in gay delight
As we dance 'neath a magic moon

For love songs softly make heart swoon
while twink'ling stars bestow their light
Sweet music play for me a tune

Blossom scents lend love's sweet parfume
and summer's breeze 'tis airy-lite
As we dance 'neath a magic moon

A merry time, this month of June
when life and love, each one shines bright
Sweet music play for me a tune

If I'm dreaming don't wake me soon
leave me drift 'pon sleepy cloud's flight
As we dance 'neath a magic moon

Yes, play, play on, we two shall spoon
romancing love into the night
Sweet music play for me a tune
As we dance 'neath a magic moon

i really like this one. its so... yes, romantic and melodic and all around lovely. the language reminds me of an old english sort of style poem/song. i can just hear it being played at a medivial fair. but it still also reminds me of warm summer nights in this time period. so, anyways, great job. it was lovely.

barvo...a finely wrought vilanelle. 8 syllabs per line. hums like a miniature machine. and theme is gentle and moving. and there is a great line there too, 'Yes, play, play on, we two shall spoon'. i think this one would sound as handsome when read as it looks on the page.

Wow, excellently written in the intriquing form that I so admire. I keep saying I will try it one day, but never seem to get around to it! Very well done with some vivid images throughout and it was a delight to read your words again! Regards ~ Helena

wonderful!
"If I'm dreaming don't wake me soon
leave me drift 'pon sleepy cloud's flight
As we dance 'neath a magic moon "
- I also love the magic spell of the moon and i hate to be waked up when i'm "dreaming"!
:)
