A Poem by Deranged Kiwi

It twinkled on a slender finger
Whispering promises of what would be
Blind...

Now I know
It never was
And never will be

Tonight we aren’t fighting
We aren’t speaking at all
Alone in my foolishness
Yet again
In this god forsaken void of absence
With the broken reminder, gleaming
From the shining fragments, dancing on shadowed walls

Please tell me if I'm dying...
Wait, I don't want to know.

If you were here
I’d fall all over again
Tumbling face first
Into what we called love

Take my hand
Love me again
And I’ll show you the meaning
Of self destruction
