To Make Things New

To Make Things New

A Poem by Deranged Kiwi
"

"I go to make all things new" Revelations 21:5

"

In a matter of seconds…

Everything in my world has perished

It has wilted away like a desolate rose

Left to dry under the desert sun

I watch in awe as the sky crashes

Raining down in ashes and embers

My faith is shaken in the silence

My life is consumed in flames

In a matter of seconds…

Everything I thought I knew

Has been wrenched out from beneath me

Shredded and discarded

My heart has fallen

Submerse in a sea of sadness

Awakening a deep ruble at my core

The new beginning has arrived

In a matter of seconds…

The light of my being dwindles

Like a candle dancing with the wind

I grow weak; My soul is dying

The time has come…

This piece was edited from "Changes". The underlying religious tone was not discovered until now. I'm not even sure why I wanted to change it but I'm happy. I'm also glad that it didn't turn out to be a 'blatant' religious piece. But let me know what you think.
