Beside the Plymouth BeanA Poem by FoxemeraldI was proposed to on Christmas Eve this year next to one of my favorite Michigan coffee houses. Here is one of my little tributes to that special night :)Beside the Plymouth coffee bean he stood And asked me to sit On bended knee he took my hand and then began to speak. We came here every trip’ He said. ‘I thought it would fit To bring you here tonight, for what might soon open the doors to one of the most important nights of my life. So many times have you sat In front of the window at this cafe Hoping, praying, and waiting for someone like me, to come along and Sweep you off your feet. So many nights of agonizing- Loneliness, and thoughts about your Someday life. You wrote your heart onto the page as you Plugged away at those keys, over a cup of English tea. Coming up with little poems and stories that Chiseled away your time. I thought it would be quite the thing to Bring you here this Christmas Eve. ‘Will you marry me?’ To my beloved, Boyd Allen XoXo Love, Em ~ © 2023 Foxemerald |
