Spider's Grace ~A Chapter by FoxemeraldI never led myself- the words have led me to what I have and will become. They are not my own. I have never owned words. Some are borrowed, some stolen from the flapping lips of others, taken from the people I hate and spun into something nice. Some are an axe that have caused revenge, and some have given me purity. Some are joyful bouts of song, which have crested from the valiant tongue, that have shown me courageous- But, the words that have not been mine, are the words I have stolen. Taken and woven with deviant desires, lies of malicious intent. They are the ones that have become my secret webs. Webs that might have caught flies, but have become stronger nets for enemies. They have been woven on a spindle into gold threads, and they, with their temptations, have caught the unsuspecting eye of those who like the material gifts- I have hidden in my corner, like the spider who catches the fly, and have carefully bided my time. One by one, I have caught all of them, all of them with a sharpened eye for the material. They have fingered over my words like gold thread, and I have watched their eyes glint- Captured by their lustrous greed. And I, with my meticulous eyes, have caught them one by one, each of them in my malicious trap. I have played with them like I play with my food, and then I have swallowed them whole- And the words became cruel and blunt, harrowing enough to describe- with the perfect, elegant precision which they had liked so well, to their own demise I should add- exactly what I see in them . . . and, after toying with them so long, watching them with careless interest, caught within this net of gold splendor, I cut the net- And then I watched them fall with ease and grace. Enough to enchant me, inasmuch as I, with my graceful verbiage, had once regaled them . . .
