Winter's GhostA Poem by FoxemeraldWinter's Ghost ~
Lively with sparkle- such indistinct snowflakes- how they are dancing!
They drift to the side, of that long shadow- and tease the width of my eyes . . . to remind me, of that . . . long ago time.
In its cold hands . . . I feel your face, as it trembles, a mingling river's transit.
Those long, translucent hands- glancing down the sides- of my now contented heart, to inspire its lost warmth . .
They nestle in the breath, which floats across- my eyelids- and they flirt with my conscience-
As they warm over the frost- giving my skin- a hint- of their transient, red glow . . . slowly they cool on my skin's- pallid lines.
I feel them close - their soft skirts splay, across the hem . . . of my fickle emotions- to slowly shed its robes, askance- to discard its breath . . .
While the snowflakes fall. . . they slowly begin to melt . . . and your ghosting soul- drifts away into the breeze . . . carried on the fluttering wings- of the snowflakes as they dance, away from my peripheral means . . . and I lose sight of you, again- ahhhh . . . my irksome, winter's ghost- your innocence has much deceived! © 2014 Foxemerald |
