Song of Hope ~A Poem by FoxemeraldInspired by 'Blackmore's Night'
Song of Hope ~
Fingers rolled along the keys, Trembled through a warbled fantasy, Bringing me with frenzy into, The wave of its swelling vortex. Falling through a black tunnel, Your voice leaked into my heart, Flowing through its locked chest. Heavily antiquated I saw- A black rose beguile its stalk, As it spiraled to the ground . . . Now resting in death below me. The delicate notes had cracked- Gentle inflection was heard as, Your voice flowed through my ears, Breathing out its tiny puffs, Mingling upon the air to slip, Through constricted space, Ascending on the chords of hope, Into my spirit's black abode. Climbing up the heart of stone, Everything inside me seemed to, Pause, as the light entered in. Your notes slid upon the wave, Then stopped- To linger upon the precipice- They shivered as they lit the tunnel, With a deep and loving glow. Hope, which had began to flutter, Now trembled with joy- A pure, unadulterated love swept, Through my heart causing it, To ring out with ecstasy, As that one, tiny little cadence, Rekindled my vivacious soul. Your clear, beautiful notes, Gave me back what I had lost, And sent the first true note inside- Offering me your song of hope. © 2014 Foxemerald |
