Day of Black Coffee ~

Day of Black Coffee ~

A Poem by Foxemerald
"

The simplest things seem to make my day better! Hypothetically speaking- I think that coffee and tea can work to be great flirtation tools . . . but who knows? Maybe that's just me, after all.

"

Day of Black Coffee ~

Coffee mug on the patio,

It trembled and went down,

Then evaded my reflexive hand that,

Could not stop its descent,

The liquid clouding out the gray.

My hands shook as I bent,

Over to pick up the remnants,

Trembling with hidden shame that,

Offered us no small description.

Then, in front of my eyes,

Hands appeared that removed,

the mug now traveling by me.

Lily-white and slender,

They gracefully placed the,

Scattered glass at the edge,

To carefully remove the stains-

and remove the trace of coffee from my day. . .

beautifully described and very nice ending

I love how you tell so much without actually telling. You turn simplicity into something beautiful or maybe rather you show the beauty in simplicity. This reminds me of the films of Robert Bresson. I loved it.

Thank you for your words about this piece. As you have no doubt concluded, there is little about it .. read more
My friend, I love black coffee, I always drink it black and pure, and this poem, of just the simple pleasures of life, made me happy. And funny enough, I'm drinking black coffee now too.

You are a true poetess, you always can write about the most simple things, and turn them to beauty.
This is no exception. I so enjoyed the day, where the coffee, stood in the center of attention, even when this day was black, (maybe). ;) but still so much beauty. Always,

- Elisa
