Velvet Love ~

Velvet Love ~

A Poem by Foxemerald

Velvet Love

Love is like a dream . . . an orb hidden within the arts . . .

There is a velvety thread which never ends,

it slides against the my head,

and the underside of my thoughts . . .

this, which is called love.. . . '

Eyes that are closing,

hearts that are bursting with life . . .

a zealous passion,

a euphoric spasm of youth and-

flare of desirous need.

These fingers stroke upon my soul

playing a harpsichord upon my breast,

The lyrics etched upon my hands,

have abandoned me to wanton dreams.

You play upon my body, as though upon a memory,

one which you'd remember to hold,

in the midst of a velvet night when your-

thoughts sent you into the darkness,

the measure of your soul to find alone,

which calls to you an inspiration.

Cold breaths, blowing against my skin . . .

lost in the whirling of the passion . . .

inner flame which lights your smile . . .

and golden tendrils glinting -

I turned to you and wonder at the,

world made violet by your staring.

Your fluid fingers fall against me. . .

to play upon my harpsichord,

theme song of our life which drugged us,

a unified song that plays between us . . .

forever and for all eternity . . .

encircling our arms, our hands, our fate . . .

and carrying us into this wanton need . . .

of a love which stretches us into-

a world unseen,

or a love cloaked in velvet . . .
