The Soul's Song

The Soul's Song

A Poem by Foxemerald

~ Soul's Tune ~

Can you listen, gently to the . . .
Dove which plays its quiet song?

Take me where the stately flowers,
Call us with a matron's favor.

Have you walked with me, my darling?
Have you heard my soul's deep cry?

Have you seen the darkened colors,
Of my heart drift slowly by?

Have you heard my silent whisper,
Flutter through our broken pane?

Have you cried with me, my love?
Have you walked beside this pain,
When the sunlight starts to pale,
Into a discouraged gray?

Songs to stir the soul now call us . . .
A primal and majestic need,
Whirring with a zealous passion,
And societal contretemps

. . .

Could you spare a kiss, my darling?

. . .

When the blackness turns to morning,
A sailor's kiss has caught my wish,
And licked away the pain anointing,
Honey to my lips ~
