Heart of Satan

Heart of Satan

A Poem by Foxemerald

Heart of Satan -

'Clutch it to you close,
Pin it to your lapel,
Keep it locked inside you-'
Saith the Devil.

The dove's wings flutter gently,
It's rippled, silken lengths
Flow as a white gown trailing,
Along the dark.

Flapping in our black heart,
Begging sweet release,
Feeling its steady death.

The dove is finally dying,
Weakening inside us.

Desperately it cries,
But no one hears its pain,
Wildly it starts to thrash-
Begging for the sun.

. . .

An angel came from Heaven,
And He unlatched the key-
To release the dove.

He once left Heaven's beauty,
To save the human mind . . .
From its desire.

Human life forgot this,
And the dove slowly,
Curled into itself and died,
His efforts for naught . . .

Humanity is a toxin,
Torn apart by black dreams,
And the love has left its-
Forgotten soul.

Beauty is antiquated,
And it has left our black hearts-
To Satan's art.
