The Black Toxin

The Black Toxin

A Poem by Foxemerald

The Black Toxin ~

Insipid black toxin,

that enters the crevice,

of my heart's hidden chamber.

It flows in a stream that's seamless,

pervading my mind,

and slowly flows inside me.

I lean toward its presence,

searching for its source of life,

but the toxin

somehow evades my vision . . .

And, although I try to catch it,

I cannot seem to find what,

slithers toward my conscience.

. . .

It's presence evades me,

as I look for the sight of,

this eerie trickling,

of the strong intoxicant drug,

which pervades my spirit,

with a dose of black,

and a snaking madness . . .

it eats me.
