Song of my HumanityA Poem by FoxemeraldWhat does it really mean to be human, and what beauty can abide in it?Song of my Humanity ~
Darkness pours down upon my flesh-
and I find no words to comfort me.
In distress I feel the profound risk-
an agony just like Hades-
Soundless pain drifts through my soul,
my heart is lit by seaman's lightings,
the torch in the wind blows like a flame,
until deep peace befalls me . . .
I am drifting by, slowly yearning,
seeking a newfound, hidden life,
but in my unique, unworldly thoughts,
what has become my pride-
a sensual and a languid drifting . . .
of a beauty undefined,
grabs my tired dendrites.
My soul again is lifted, as I touch it-
that profound enemy, that lovers kiss-
of humanity rushing o'er me . . .
And I drift by, deeply yearning,
pining for its sweet lost love,
as my distress leaves me in the crux,
of the rushing, waters,
and I feel God's grace wash over me,
reminding me of my home-
the one that is my human abiding,
human side who transforms my love,
and recreates my agony-
into a beauty, sweetly undefined . . .
The human pain, the human love,
has made me what I am today,
and for that I am proud to sing the song,
of my true humanity . . .
