Gold Eagle, and Earth's ChallengeA Poem by Foxemerald~ Gold Eagle, and Earth’s Challenge ~ Dressed in gold, How could he fly- Could this marvel soar, Into the white lace, of the golden mellow fields, That rolled without the sweet, summer delights- That splits the world into a pretty parfait, And blows over ever being, animal, and lovely creature, That He hath made. Dressed in gold, Could the eagle of the faraway Earth glide, Over the various boundaries, That were created for difficult passages, Or would he pause over the rope-like flowers, That populate, that twine over the land, beneath him, The dough rolled fields, the mellow, sun-kissed meadows, laced with white lace- And kiss the Earth, himself, Disregarding the strife? Or perhaps he would pause, No longer able to sustain his gravity, And think, Though I came from Heaven, This Earth should be mine forever. Or, would he soar, Ever onward, Into God’s own eternity . . . Oh Blessed Savior, God of all Earth, Tell this yon creature of many, That he is not alone his thoughts, But that we appreciate his thoughts as well- And hold the eagles to our sights, our true hearts, And think to ourselves . . . If he can appreciate Earth’s width, So do I- Appreciate- Life, and all its gifts. © 2013 Foxemerald |
