Day 2

Day 2

A Chapter by Foxembers

Impepho 12, Year 17

                Dear Diary,

I'm back! You would not believe what happened today! So you know how I told you about my powers and loneliness yesterday. Well, today I had one of my adventures, but I got an actual friend this time! Coincidentally enough she already lives near me. Though she is a bit weird, and not exactly the kind of friend most parents would want for their child. But hey, I'm happy. So the story is that I woke up this morning and-like usual-I could tell it was an adventure day. It's this weird gut feeling, like when you say you feel it in your jellies even though your jellies don't actually exist. Anyway, I was totally dreading it, cursing Lily for it. Especially since it was happening literally the day after writing in my journal for the first time.

Okay, but moving on. So I woke up and knew something was going to happen today. What was really weird though, was that I couldn't figure out what my special skill thingy was. I spent all of breakfast trying everything I knew, but there was nothing. By the way, off topic, but breakfast was fantastic. I had some biscuits smothered in gravy, and one with honey, and two scrambled eggs with orange juice, frothy just the way I like it without those pulpy floaty thingies. Sorry, I just feel like remembering the little things would be fun for a journal. Back to the story though.

So, I couldn't figure out what my power was, and my parents said they hadn't noticed anything new in the house or the shop that could've been my special object so...I was at a loss. It was really weird that I couldn't figure it out. I mean, after doing bajillions of these things you think I'd have figured them out for the most part, but I guess things change all the time. As you probably figured, I'm homeschooled, though if I'm being honest I don't really need it. Lily let me keep basic knowledge from my past life so I'm already smart enough to have finished school here. I've pretty much just got free time on my hands which is nice for when I have to go on adventures, 'cause having to leave school randomly every few days would suck. Mom and Dad left today for another trip so I had the shop to myself. No one really comes on Saturday. I spent the first half of my morning trying to avoid going outside and triggering the start of the adventure while trying to find out what my special skill was. It's the worst when an adventure starts and I don't have any idea what I can do to help it along. I once got stuck on a cliff and fell, but it turns out I could fly that day, which would've been helpful before when I had gotten stuck on a raft floating away from everyone else who had been in the group that day.

Regardless, I still couldn't figure it out. Also, little had I known, but the adventure had already started and it was coming straight for me. One last little thing. So I honestly thought that people who had been on adventures with me forgot all about it since none of them tried to contact me after, but today I learned that wasn't true. See, right in the middle of me making some mac and cheese in the kitchen/living space in the back of the shop I was interrupted by a very loud noise that sounded suspiciously like the door opening and on of the large shelves falling over. Sadly that was exactly what had happened. I'm just glad Lina had helped me clean up after the adventure...oh, I'm getting a bit ahead. So, I took the mac and cheese of the stove like a smart person would and rushed out to see the left side of the shop, by the door, in shambles. Kade, a guy who had been one of my sidekicks on a day when I had been a villain, was laying. Crushed under the very shelf that I was sure he had knocked over.

Despite the fact that he had just trashed my parents favorite place, I was ecstatic. The feeling was much like the joy of seeing someone who had saved your life while they were actively trying to rob you. Umm...actually just forget that, it was an entirely inappropriate analogy. So (wow, I just realized I use that word a lot. I think I've been starting my sentences with the same, like, four words. Oh well, I mean it's my journal, so who can really judge me.) Kade was laying there, and I was standing ecstatically, frozen in my spot by the shops' backdoor. I also, didn't really want to help him up despite the fact that he was the first person to ever come back, since he had kinda destroyed my parents shop. After a minute or two I finally went over to help him. I was able to shift the shelf enough to pull him free.

Kade was knocked out cold, though. I've never actually seen that in person before and I don't know whether it's just, you know, a thing or if it's funny. Goodness me, I just realized that I still haven't even gotten to the main part of the story yet. Sorry I'm going so slow, but sheesh I get sidetracked so freaking easily! In any case, the point was Kade=Heavy, Shop=Ruined, Me=Tired, and Lina=Fudge-freaking Angry. By the way, Lina had walked into the shop right as I'd finished pulling Kade free and at that point in time had not liked me. At this point in time though I was tired and she was gorgeous, so I didn't much care. But seriously. She was exactly what I would wish to look like if I could look like anything. She was a princess, a goddess, the epitome of the word beautiful. She told me later it was part of her "curse", everyone sees her as some gorgeous creature according to what they like. She was also carrying a dagger, and I think I had seen another in  her boot, as well as a gun in her belt, and of course what we will later realize is her greatest weapon, a whistle.

Her glare was bright like the sun when she walked in. I blinked a few times and realized that was just a mix of her looks, the sunlight behind her streaming through the open shop door, and the fact that I am way too weak to be trying to move a shelf and carry a practically full grown man. She walked straight up to me and Kade, and pointed her dagger at me. I believe at that point she had said, "Who are you, and why are you helping him?"

If I'm being honest I probably fainted, or is the proper term blacked out?, anyway I fainted. But if I'm stretching the truth I would say I just fell asleep due to being tired. It was most definitely not because of stress. It may have been in awe of Lina's beauty, and it may have been due to me always forgetting to drink water. My point is, I have a lot of excuses, and I am not afraid to use them. When I had come too, Kade was tied up in the corner, Lina was sitting in my shop chair-glaring at me, might I add-and I also happened to be tied up.

I'll admit I may have yelled a bit, but I got over it relatively quickly.  Lina will tell you that I was sobbing for over 45 minutes, but she is lying to you. Trust me, I know better and she is part of the...ah, wait, I shouldn't be telling you that just yet. Anyways, umm...sorry, I lost my train of thought. Where was I? Oh yeah! I wasn't sobbing for over 45 minutes, I swear. In actuality, after a bit of yelling/screaming I calmed down quite nicely. By this time, Lina had taken her-my-chair and scooted it away from me and closer to Kade. Instead of taking offense I quickly got down to the point. I asked who she was and why she had tied me and Kade up. Sadly enough, that had not been the right choice as I had just associated myself with her target, putting myself in a position I often find myself. Though this time it was entirely my own fault. I mean, I was just minding my own business and so it is totally justifiable for this adventure to completely interrupt my very jam-packed day.

I'm going to guess by this time in the story you have lost most of your interest, so I am going to be very nice and very cruel at the same time and speed up the next part. Of course, the next part is where it actually gets exciting. You see, Kade had woken up at this point and started to freak out in the same manner as I had. Once again, Lina will tell you lies about what exactly happened at this point so don't believe, however hard that may be. I learned that Kade had managed to get on some super big Crime Gang's bad side and Lina had been sent to "clean him up" as it were. Then began the fighting seen, you see Kade wasn't my sidekick for nothing. He actually has the power to phase through things. Luckily he had his special clothes on cause he can at times phase through his own clothes which makes things a bit awkward. In any case, the fighting went something like Lina stabbing, Kade phasing, artifact crashing to the floor, Lina shooting, Kade phasing, shelf splintering as it's torn apart by a bullet, Lina jump kicking and then slashing, Kade dodging then phasing, me screaming in fear as the knife comes within an inch of my face and then screaming more as it scratches a very rare sword. One that took my parents three months to find and collect.

AS luck would have it, my screaming was the perfect thing at that moment. You see I had finally found my special talent for the day. It happened to be Ultrasonic Sound (or at least that's what I think it's called) and it caused both Lina and Kade to fall to the floor, frantically clutching their heads. The next part I am going to go zoomy speed, seeing as it is getting really late, and I am half asleep. I'd rather not have to redo this in the morning because half of the words are nonsense and the rest are out of order. So, I had to sort out the problem between the Crime Gang and Kade, it had something to do with refusing to give them something they needed. I ended up something a version of the thing to them, and got some help from Lina in cleaning up the shop. I'm going to write this down as a reminder but I need to tell you about Lina's "curse". Also, Kade and Lina said they would be back tomorrow, so YAY I have friends. Or, at least, I hope they are. I don't really have a bunch of experience in this area. I should probably tell you that my parents aren't coming back until, like, the 18th. Don't know why I felt the need to write the but, whatever.

As a quick jot on the side, I should probably mention that Kade had been very shocked at my ability today as last time he had seen me I had been able to hypnotize people. I haven't actually explained to him about my situation yet, so that's...fun. Anyway, I really should go to bed. I'll try to sum things up better tomorrow-I mean later...maybe I'll try writing in normal book form. That way I'll get to do the dialogue too. In any case, I guess this is goodnight. See you later!!!

Azacia

P.S. Random thought for the night. I swear if I have to do another adventure tomorrow, I'm going to...I don't even know but it'll be bad. Night!
