My NinetyA Poem by Brett ForsytheB.A.C.H. <3I’ll always love her but she doesn’t know, That this rock heart of mine she has melting like snow, She’s more than a girl, she’s the one that I need, When I close my eyes it’s her that I see, As her gorgeous brown eyes stare into my soul, I ask myself why I ever forced her to go, "One more kiss to show that I care?" She nods me a yes and continues to stare, As I begin ninety, she slowly goes ten, I start falling in love all over again, The inches collapse between our lips, It begins to feel like another first kiss, They almost touch but a noise occurs, Confused I awake to see it’s a bird, Perched by my window, it sings for the day, Head buried in hands, I know nothing’s the same, I made a mistake now I’m here all alone, And the only hand I can hold is my own, In bed by myself I know I’m paying the price, For hurting my girl, the love of my life, The tears make to my cheeks till I wipe them away, As I turn to her picture I hear myself say, "Why can’t life just be perfect and be not what it seems, because the best part of this life exists in my dreams." © 2011 Brett ForsytheReviews
