Persistence

Persistence

A Poem by Brett Forsythe
"

Wrote this for my ex. (Image of a man proposing to his girlfriend with a rose and a ring on a small boat in the middle of a lake)

"

Our love is far more painful than the thorns that pierce my skin,

Tiny drops of blood roll down these tired beaten hands,

As your golden fingertips kiss the rippled lake,

I look deep inside those hazel eyes in hopes I have a place,

People always told me if you love her let her go,

If she comes back loving you she's forever yours to hold,

Truth is I won't let go of you, not even for a day,

Cause if you truly love someone you won't let them get away.
