Press OnA Poem by Brett ForsytheThis is a song/poem about life and my views on it. To the same rhythm as the song "Unknown Soldier" by Breaking Benjamin.Last in place, My own race, I’ll still win, If I get to get to the finish, Let’s rewind, Turn back time, Keep in mind, I won’t get left behind, I’m slowly losing time, It’s always on my mind, So how can I pretend, I’m fine? Show me that this life, Has purpose and a price, Prove to me, and I’ll press on tonight. Face your fears, House of mirrors, Is it clear? Or tell me what do you see? Roll the dice, Jesus Christ, Take my life, I’ll be the sacrifice, We’re slowly losing time, It’s always on my mind, So how can I pretend I’m fine? Show me that this life, Has purpose and a price, Prove to me, and I’ll press on tonight. Is death the price? Key to life, Live to die, What do we fail to see? Is it love? Up above, Is he here, Walking among us? We’re slowly losing time, It’s always on my mind, So how can I pretend I’m fine? Show me that this life, Has purpose and a price, Prove to me, and I’ll press on tonight. To end war? Carnivore, Take each other, And fight until nothing’s left, Look for more, Ocean’s floor, What’s in store? But you keep dragging me to shore, We’re slowly losing time, It’s always on my mind, So how can I pretend I’m fine? Show me that this life, Has purpose and a price, Prove to me, and I’ll press on tonight. © 2011 Brett ForsytheAuthor's Note
