The ConfessionA Poem by Brett ForsytheWell I know it’s my fault, that we’re apart, the truth is baby, you still own my heart, Each night worsens, as I stay up alone, all I think about is you, and this heart without a home, How can I show you, prove to you I’ve changed? I’m done hiding now, I admit that I’m to blame, If only you could know, exactly how I feel, cause baby after you, I know that love is real, Do you remember, the summer at the lake? We had a world of trust, but now you think I’m fake, I’ve got something, that I need you to know, baby I’ve tried so hard, but I just can’t let go, How can I show you, prove to you I’ve changed? I’m done hiding now, I admit that I’m to blame, If only you could know, exactly how I feel, cause baby after you, I know that love is real, Tears run down my face, while I’m alone in the dark, I can’t help but wonder, who’s head’s against your heart, I've messed up, but I’ve paid for my mistakes, The pain of love seems so much worse, when a broken hearts at stake, How can I show you, prove to you I’ve changed? I’m done hiding now, I admit that I’m to blame, If only you could know, exactly how I feel, cause baby after you, I know that love is real, All I can do is pray you’ll be alright, And ask the man upstairs to bring you home tonight, I’ve been told many things, like love’s a losing game, But babe you’re the only one, where the love is worth the pain. © 2011 Brett ForsytheAuthor's Note
