Hold my hand, I am afraid

Hold my hand, I am afraid

A Poem by ZETH
"

just the transition from childhood to adulthood.

"

I have lost the dream
it has faded away
though sleep still comes  the dreams are covered in shades
the child within now grown to think
upon the burdens of life instead of "fun and Games"

reality of what was thought of then
becomes a picture of Gray,
more complex, mainstream trend

from toys to ties
imagination to satisfaction
from learning by mistakes
to perfection or pay

i have lost the dream
i wished it had stayed

a child lost in the dark
a child lost in pain...

I still remember this transition with woe... The confusion and a feeling of having lost something very dear to me. It's strange how we as children can't wait to become adults, playing adult games of "house" and such, and then when we do, all we want is to be children again! You did a good job at capturing this melancoly and sadness here. Well done!

Nothing to be scared of, dear, all the same you've got the right idea. It is always a good idea to hold hands and stick together in this world. Keep the dream and the imagination in your heart. You will have a light in the dark.
