My PromiseA Poem by Forgotten14Just a bit of something that I just finished writing while I'm heading to Yosemite. Everything I say is true, and while many of you may not agree, some may find these words true.I'll be honest, I don't make a lot of promises. But whenever I do, I keep them. However, I'm willing to make a promise, a big one. Bigger than the Grand Canyon, or the Sun. I'm willing to make more than a promise, more than a vow. These are all understatements to what I find bigger than what I'll be offering. I won't just be offering love, or happiness, or anything like that. I'm willing to make the promise of being your crutch. To be by your side no matter what you may face, whether it be a passing of a person, illness, a financial crisis, or anything that feels like an apocalypse occurred. It's a promise that I've rarely ever made to anyone, and I've chose to make this promise to you. That's how much you mean to me, because I know, that in the end, when the castle crumbles and the crown rusts and the throne turns to ashes, I'll have you. And that's what will keep the sun shining, what will keep the moon bright even at the darkest hour. If I break such a promise that can truly mean the end of myself, I vow to exile myself from your mind, to exile myself for your vision, because I know that I failed to even be by your side, a task that can be so simple, but yet, can have a massive consequence that can lead to utter failure. I will tell you this now, and it's the only time I will tell you of such a thing: If you are going to be my first love, I'm hoping you are going to be the last. The last of my life. Because I know that if I can't have you, then I will remain to have no one. While this promise looks small on the outside; It's bigger on the inside. That is a promise.
