Prologue: Between Us

Prologue: Between Us

A Chapter by Forgotten14

This world isn't perfect. In fact, no one is. I find it extremely difficult to see everyone look the same. A reproduced look of the person that they sit next to. Day to day living that is forever repeated.

It pains me.

And it makes me tense and scare and infuriated.

But it’s the Government, and there really isn't anything that one person like me can do. So maybe I have a bit of a gift, but it’s not a gift. If someone’s going to kill me because it gives everyone else equal opportunity, then no, it’s not a gift.

I’m not the only one enduring this pain however.

My fate, is his fate. That’s how it is. If I die, who knows what’ll happen to him. Will he suffer some sort of trauma, or will he be able to function like a normal human?

It’s the fact that we’re the only ones that we know of that has this “gift” that is really just a big pain.

There’s only one thing that I ask of him: shut up about telling me to relax every goddamn minute.
