The Riots of 2011

A Poem by Forgotten
"

A poem about the london riots

"

The nights echo with rage,
Communities split in two,
Reason and arrogance collide in the streets,
Passions of two sides fuse to war.

The death of one causes a ripple,
streets of fire,
Shattered windows mirror the emotions of victims,
The lives of owners looted in the darkness.

This is the England Riots of 2011,
This is the day lives were destroyed by the community of arrogance.

A great city Detroit was killed off by the riots of 1967. I lived in the center of the city. To destroy your own city and leave nothing. What did you do? Mad men and woman took from many hard working people who were left with nothing. I agree with your poem. To create change. Need a peaceful demonstration. Not violence and causing damage to the wrong people. Thank you for the excellent poem.

I was following the riots in London from here in the States and it's been quite dramatic. I like the image of one person's death causing a ripple, as well as "the lives of owners looted in the darkness".
