Future without History

Future without History

A Poem by Forgotten

Earth is just the battleship in which our forces are stationed,
Constant mutiny across it's decks a ride to hell in our civilisations,
Broken men and fractured ladies litter aboard we find no graces,
We put each other in and out putting us through each others paces,
Where is our God when we we need him most hiding in the lifeboats,
Afraid to admit to his mistakes he'll leave us by the wayside,
We'll climb each others structures and lead us to a new era,
Cry for a revolution and let the salt waters tarnish our papers,
Let the ink smudge our ageing words history will be erased,
Forget the world behind us as we let down the new sails,
The jolly roger forget the pirates we are new kings,
We'll lead us down a fresh path where sands have been untouched,
Run our hands against new asteroids and brush against the planets,
Open our eyes to the world around us we'll knock against the sky,
Let the ripples guide us through the space unknown our minds we'll recollect,
Let the inventors work their magic as the wizards of our powered engines,
Rush across the sky the power in our new embraces,
Look behind at the crumbling mess and utter our words and our disgraces,
We'll leap across the ozone and forget about the races,
Skip stones across the sky pillaged from our ruins,
We'll sing a song into the night about the days of our undoing,
From days of our insensate greed and constant workplace suing,
Escape the shackles of our lives the verbal injected poisons,
Become the leaders of our stories the narrator to our books,
Let's write a new paragraph in the blood of our selfish ancestors,
Our histories will be forgotten but futures will be our creations.

I'm completely blown away with how well you managed to write this. I can't even begin to explain what I liked about it- I loved every part of this, very very powerful and poetic. An honest write full of emotions, great descriptions, inspiring lines, thought provoking sentences. Very mysterious yet eye opening at the same time...

What a powerful and exhilarating write. I feel and picture every word that you penned. It's unique and a great fantasy as well as somber and mysterious.

Would be nice if we save our dying world. I like the above lines. Filled with energy and hope. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
