The Calling of Nature

The Calling of Nature

A Poem by Forgotten

Upon sultry tone should my blood turn to alcohol,
Rejoice in the drunken pleasure,
Sway with nature and let the trees claim you,
Let it's roots penetrate your soul,
Bliss collides with spirit and smile should follow,
Is this natures true calling?
It's purifying splendour raining upon me,
Feeding me the fruits of love and compassion,
I am human as is my emotion.

Beat upon the drums,
Let our souls dance within the meadows,
Roaring fires of passion alight in our souls,
Free are our spirits,
Walls cannot confine us,
Our inspirations upon the pen,
The ink bleeding from our quills,
Poetry incarnate.

Close your eyes and let the music of the winds claim us,
Take us away to your embrace,
Cradle us in your protection,
For we are the people of the earth,
People of the fields,
Nature born.

lovely and primal - we are so hedged by our corporate structure and our fifty hour work weeks, we barely consider what it is to be close to nature and its ebbs and flows.

"For we are the people of the earth,
People of the fields,
Nature born. "
I agree with the above lines. We come from the earth and when we died. We will rejoin her. I like the internal thoughts and the reason for the poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

An excellent rallying call for us all to recognise nature. A well constructed flowing poem with a grounded yet ethereal feel to it.

We are the people of the earth...love the music I can feel my own roots through it. This is a fine poem you've created.
