A Higher PeakA Poem by ForgottenCreated by a God, Moulded by the clay of fabrication, We open our eyes upon a new light, Dazed and confused we begin our fragile journey, Teetering on the edge of plain and mountain, Should our cliff crumble before our feet, And tumble into the abyss, Yet fret not for tears behold our strength, From every fall we take, We will climb a higher peak. Though we would not reach cloud, Heavens choice of residence, We can rise higher if we allow our souls to do so, Though we are weak in mortal skin and flesh, A heart can sing the praises of grace, And upon melody of old strength would lend us it's wings, Though fleeting is it's aid, We must prove our willingness in time. Is the negativity created from our delusion of perfection, We are not perfect as man would like to believe, But a flawed production of life, Yet as we know life is filled with cracks and creases, Just as time and space will continue, We will live unto the new dawn, And ponder our existence
