A Love that would not bleed

A Love that would not bleed

A Poem by Forgotten

I wanted your heart yet it was thorned and rotten,
A black pustule of oozing desire,
But not for me you wanted more,
You could not ignore your carnal lust,
The animalistic spirit you so possess,
I once believed you were an angel brought into my life,
But you were nothing more than shrivelled wench.

It was too late for me,
I had already bitten into the cursed fruit,
Bound by my love for her I suffered,
My loyalty became chains binding me to her,
My soul became caged by my denial,
I believed I was a poet of romance once,
But now I am voice shrouded in this art.

A common jester I was to her,
A puppet in her game,
Controlled by her beckoning fingers,
Restrained by her succubus smile,
I am but a mortal man susceptible to pain,
It wasn't so much that she shared her supple skin,
But that my love refused to bleed,
And die with her betrayal.

There is a pain so deep within the core of this piece, that I too felt it, and took it personal...

Love has a way of changing things...the carnal emotions can sometimes take a life of it's own...
Addiction can morph into madness if one allows it to take over... I know all too well both sides of the coin... a heart is a tender thing to behold.
Although you are careful in weaving the integrity of this write, the intensity is too powerful to withhold...

This emanates such heartache and disapointment... it's truly organic!
Powerfully penned!

A wonderfully written poem of the trickery of love. Your descriptions of the woman in this was incredibly vivid:

I wanted your heart yet it was thorned and rotten,
A black pustule of oozing desire,
But not for me you wanted more,
You could not ignore your carnal lust,
The animalistic spirit you so possess,
I once believed you were an angel brought into my life,
But you were nothing more than shrivelled wench.

That is a fantastic piece of poetry!

Wow...this one speaks volumes. Desire, and the forbidden fruit...sometimes the fruit isn't as sweet, though it may look appetizing from the outside. I sense a lot of emotion in this one, especially in the last stanza, where you use some great imagery of "control" and being a "puppet", but I think that perhaps you have cut the strings, because recognition is the first step toward enlightenment.

"But that my love refused to bleed,
And die with her betrayal. "
Many kinds of love. Sometime we journey into a hot bed of love where you know failure is the end. But we must do it anyway. No weakness in the excellent poetry.
