Benevolent Absentee

Benevolent Absentee

A Poem by paradise

See the picture over there?
Look at the girl smiling her perfect hair?
Well let me tell you her smile is fake
She hid so well butit was more than she could take.

Before long her smiles started to fade
And thats when she became afraid
She started to talk less and less
But she would tell no one she would not confess

What happened to the girl who looked so alive
Why all the sudden she would not thrive
For this girl is a closed book
No one ever dares to look.

So take a peak look inside
What are the things she hides?
It's because she wants to die
Then you must be the reason she stays alive

But what do I do I don't know how
Well please think fast she needs your help now
I will try I will be there for her
But if you wait to long it will not matter

Why is it you look so sad?
It is the world it made me mad
Well I will be here for you
Goodbye My Love I bid you adieu
No please stop Come back "I Love You"

I personally think those that show emotion are heroes. Too many people in today's world put on a mask and go about their day. To me, that's not healthy. Nor is it right. Usually, there is that one person who will save you from yourself, but don't get too attached because they might not always be there when you need them.

"See the picture over there?
Look at the girl smiling her perfect hair?
Well let me tell you her smile is fake"

I like these lines because they show that people who are seemingly "normal" are dealing with serious issues. We should always ask those around us how they're doing and try to pay attention to signs of depression. All in all, you did a great job. Keep up the good work =]

why does it seem that perfection will always hide some kind of flaw. I guess that's the balance of yin and yang. The Light cannot live without the darkness. and every one of us has their own dark little something(an old levi's commercial)

I loved the poem even if it was a randomly writen one. I don't like one certain chunk of it i like all of it because everything relates and connects and intertwines with each other. I know what this poem is talking about and to go through somethinig like that is very hard. Also... sorry it took so long to read and review!

"But what do I do I don't know how"
The line looked odd to me. I wasn't sure if that was meant to be there or not.
I liked it. A feeling that everyone is familiar with.

I loved the beginning of this poem-- it was really beautiful
Hiding emotions is something generally to be avoided-- it's generally more hurtful than not. I love the rhyming scheme and the lesson is... well, not a happy one-- but possibly a very good one indeed.

I do believe the first stanza was the best:

"See the picture over there?
Look at the girl smiling her perfect hair?
Well let me tell you her smile is fake
She hid so well but it was more than she could take."

i love this poem and all you put into it...the line
"look at the girl smiling at her perfect hair?
well let me tell you her smile is fake"
that the first part reminds me of something but im not sure about the bottom line?
