My Hospitalization Explanation To Ma

"So why'd you tell me to let you stay home yesterday?" Ma asks

"Well..." I start

“Well, what?” she asks.

"Remember when I said I was hit in the face with a basketball?" I ask

“Yes,” she replies.

"Well, it wasn't a basketball...I was beat up in first period by the “cool” kids,” I say.

"Why didn't you tell me? Why'd you lie to me?" She asks

"Because I didn't want you to know the truth because I was afraid you'd overreact," I say

"Obviously I'd overreact. You were almost beaten to death today!" She yells

" I know I'm sorry," I cry

"What do you think I should do?" She cries a little.

"I'm not sure. What so you want to do?" I say

"Well, I think I should ground you for lying to me. For not telling me what actually happened because this is not acceptable." She goes on

"Okay," I say

"Okay. As soon as you recover and we leave the hospital you will be grounded and you're still going to school no matter what. I'm going to call and talk to your principle or set up a meeting with you, me, and her," She says

"Okay," I say

"I Love You," She says

"Yeah, right," I mumbled

"What was that?" She said

"Nothing. I love you, too." I say

"That's what I thought you said," She says

"Well, I'm going to bed. Goodnight," I say

"Okay. Goodnight. I'll talk to you when you wake up," She says
