Hospitalization

Hospitalization

A Chapter by Abby Cress

I've gone through enough pain in one day. I don't want to go back to school, but my mother's making me. I haven't told her what happened yet. I told her I was just hit in the face with a basketball. I don't want to go to school, but apparently I have no choice. Let's see what s**t happens today...

Well, it's second period. There's no sign of the "cool" group. I guess that's good. Oh no. I see them. SMACK!

"Hahahahahaha," All the "cool" kids laugh.

“You're an easy target, “Fotini says.

They knock my stuff on the floor and do the same exact thing. They beat me up again. But this time, worse. This time they knocked out one of my teeth, broke my ankle, punched my black eye...again, broke my nose/gave me a bloody nose, and cracked just about all my ribs. I hate this school. I hate my life. The teacher Mrs. Briggs walked in. She saw what happened. She knew I was beaten. She carried me to the nurses office. As she was carrying me I fell into unconsciousness and I was no longer awake. I was still breathing though. When I woke up I was in the hospital. My mom was next to me. She didn't see that I woke up. She sat there just balling her eyes out. I felt so bad. I told her I didn't want to go to school. I warned her. Now she's going to think this is all her fault, but it's not. I have a feeling I'm going to have to explain everything to her and why I didn't want to go to school today and I guess I'm not afraid to either. I'm just afraid of what's going to happen...
