All This Pain

i wrote this to a friend

Im so confused 
But so happy to know you
I’ve ran away so many times 
It feels almost good to be held at such a painful line 
I’ve cried all night and sat here without a speck of light
You’ve made me laugh and smile
And I’m older now but I still need to be held like a child
You’re so close but so far
I’m not sure where to go 
You say follow your heart
But I’m not sure where it’s going 
I only know where it’s been
And thank you for standing by me 
There’s all this pain and I don’t want this to happen again
