Farewell

Farewell

A Poem by Samantha.

There’s rustling under the covers

Your pants are torn

Your shirt is stained

And your pillow is drenched

Your smile was once so bright

And now it only conceals the darkness of night

He took your heart and smashed it to pieces

Your heart is broken

And no amount of time will fix it

He said he tried to make it work

But he’s the cause of all this hurt

He’s the itch that never goes away

The dirty look in everyday

If you can’t break what’s already been broken

Why does it hurt so bad to have a cut reopened

Why are your shoes enclosed in mud

Why were you running when he only said farewell
