Battle of The Sexes

Battle of The Sexes

A Poem by Forbidden
"

Okay so I was just thinking about how kids say that other kids have germs and I was also thinking about equality and this little poem came to me. I was listening to 30 seconds to mars "beautiful lie" and "Fantasy" when I wrote this lol

"

Staring at the carnage,

Of another war between the sexes,
If only they could see that no-one was better than the other,
Then there would not be as many horrible memories,
Of days gone by,
Of us sitting here wondering why?

Women are from Venus,
They shall say,
Proclaiming that their sex is better,

Men are from mars,
They would say,
Trying to out beat the girls at their own game.

The children are also on this little game,
That has been going on since the beginning of mankind.
Girls and Boys turning up their noses at each other,
Saying that they had cuties or germs,
Not really knowing what is going on they continue to play.

Is this just a game?
It would be such a beautiful lie,
To see everyone getting along,
Whatever happened to equality?

Such a beautiful lie,
To believe that we could all be equal at one stage.
But that is just another fantasy,
Let’s teach the lie to our children,
And say that it doesn’t matter who you are,
We are all equal,
It’s such a beautiful lie,
To believe in equality,
When we keep on playing the game.

Let’s play,
The battle of the sexes for one more day.

I think it is brilliant! If truth be known that is a lie that has been used since the start of time.. On one hand you have all screaming for same rights, yet on the other we are told we are the same, no difference, yet we ourselves know of the difference just by being.. Living each day with our mates, we see how each one reacts to the other.. Woman, clean, cook, raise the kids, shop, while men work, take care of all outside, like it is a written rule of sorts. Notice though of the change. Now woman are in the working force, they too make the money, yet still have the same responsabilities.. While men.. See it could go on and on forever.. Never a light at the end of the tunnel.. So this is the reason the game is played..
it's what makes the world go round I guess. That and nothing more..

The last line was the most powerful. I love it :)
