Bloodshot Tears

A poem about a girl who is crying over her boyfriend.

I’m not like you,

Nor do I wan’t to be.

 

A plastic figurine,

Unbreakable,

Living forever,

Alone,

In a world without love,

Who would want that?

 

Bloodshot tears,

Easy enough to kill you,

Caused from a few simple words,

That can change your life forever.

 

The Bloodshot tears,

Run freely now,

But it’s my choice tonight,

It’s easy,

If you don’t need me,

Then I don’t need you.

If you don’t love me,

Then I won’t love you.

It’s easy to say,

But it’s hard to do.

Bloodshot tears,

I won’t let them consume me,

I don’t need you,

Not tonight,

Not ever,

Just walk away,

Let me be,

I will make it in this world,

Without you, my dear.

 

These Bloodshot tears,

Aren’t for you,

They are for me.

Letting it go tonight,

So I can live my life carefree.

 

My Dear,

Don’t you worry about me,

These Bloodshot tears will comfort me.

 

For You,

My Dear,

Walk away happily,

With that w***e you paid for tonight,

Don’t waste a single thought on me,

My Bloodshot tears will comfort me.

I agree with Kit.. You do have a way with your words that draws the reader in and makes them feel.. This piece, well it's like you are saying.. 'Go on leave, I don't care'.. Yet in reality you do, very much so.. The usage of words and the meaning tells of a different need.. We all say leave, go away, don't care. For it makes us feel better saying so, yet our tears come with heartbreak for do we really want to be alone.. Comfort tears can be, but for only a short time...
