Hopeless Love

This is for a challenge I did on another site called Booksie, its a love poem. Please read and comment.

For If I asked for your hand,

And whispered sweet words that never seemed to end,

Would you care?

 

If I had caught the moon,

And gave it to you,

Would you through it away,

As if you did not care?

 

If I knelt on one knee,

And gave my life to thee,

Would you laugh at my face?

And give me disgrace,

For you believe you deserve someone better than me.

 

If had led you to the ends of the earth,

Just to watch the sunset hit the water,

Would you believe that my heart would forever belong to thee?

 

Love is not a simple thing,

For as one grows,

Love grows with me.

Love is but an endless cycle,

Always moving,

And always growing,

Love is all that we believe it to be.

 

Love was once something,

That I believed was for you and I.

It seems my comment seemed to disappear..

I liked this.. Love is something that does grow, as we do.. It is a gift that we give to someone we think special. Not sure what I had written on the review I sent forth, but read this again.. Your words hold so much within.. Like the lines:

Love is not a simple thing,

Well this held so many truths inside it.. I really felt htis!

Your last lines. WOW! Like I know where that came from. been there a time or two before myself..

This was truth upon truth. That's what I thought! great piece..
