Unknown Chapter of Copperwirs

Shows the morning of a side character who is struggling with the secret government drug. Breifly describes his "smart house" and irradic behavior before taking his pill.

                                 2082

Time. 6:00am. Alarm. Obnoxious!

  This is what a man has to wake up to. Constantly the pressures to work and do your job without faltering begins to take it's tool. The man enduring this racket was James, another gear in the economic machine. Like many others in his situation,he was told his work was utmost important to his country. But he begins to wander at what his sanity costs. Slowly  rolling and pulling the sheets from his face his mouth opens in a silent yawn. The bed almost replies with a loud creak. "Uhh" he moans with and audible tone as he reaches for the screeching alarm. "Alright, alright, I can hear you   shut up now". Turning off the alarm his long legs now hung off the side of the bed as he sat upwards. With another yawn and sigh James runs his hands through his brown shiny hair. After taking a brief moment to come alive he looked over at the bedstand. Something he's done morning after morning. Placed atop the bedstand was a clear plastic cup of water. Next to it lied a white pill capsule. The eyelids that moments earlier sat lazily were now opened revealing his hazel eyes. "You don't need this. You told yourself you were going to stop." He thought about the decision in a rational manner before another thought intruded. "Take it, what is a matter with you? You know how you are without it!" his opposing thought shouted. James ears began to get red and he could feel the familiar pulse of anger. His hands starting trembling and small beads of sweat began forcing their way from his pors. Eyes set on to the crystal clear glass of moderately cool water and the pill. "Go on" his head said and his body listened. As his shaking hand  neared the pill it steadied. With a quick snap of his index and thumb, he clasped the pill placing it on his tongue and chasing  it down with water. "Ah, the day has now started" his consciousness spoke. James got up from his bed and started for the bathroom. The floor was a cold artificial hardwood, he thought it felt nice between his feet. Now entering his bathroom a voice rang out. "Morning James, did you sleep well?" This voice was young and lively one but still had an electric hum. It was his mirror. "Well Nicole, I slept  okay until the alarm" James said to the female voice as he looked at himself in the mirror. "Would you like to see this mornings news master?" Nicole spoke. "Yes I would, and thank you" James replied. A small section of the mirror shuttered and the news was on. James sat on the toilet and listened as a newscaster described a new conflict. "Um Nicole can you give me an update on traffic so I can see how my commute will be?"  Nicole agreed and the mirror let out a calculated answer. "There is currently 60 percent traffic on you're route to work. Current time is 6:12am. Estimated time of arrival is 6:28am, two minutes early of your necessary time." Nicole informed. Now as James lifted from the toilet seat he looked at his mirror(Nicole). Stubble from his beard and moustache was getting thicker and Nicole could guess some of his thoughts through former facial reconization and his past decisions. "Would you like to Shave sir?" she said. Rubbing his hand against his chin he answered. "I guess I should right?" he asked. "Maybe I could be of use? Here are the popular styles of today currently trending. "
   The mirror showed a screen at the top right corner. What appeared was a set of faces from models and celebrities.  It showed their facial hair for a reference. "Thanks Nicole but I think I'll go with a clean shave today." Underneathe the mirror a small seamless door opened. A hiss of air puffed from the door and a neatly organized set of razers were posed next to a small arisol can of shaving cream. James shaved and watched the morning news from Nicole and then decided to take a shower.  Then he would be off to work.... Chapter unfinished.

Coolness, I really liked the way you interrogated futuristic concepts into the scene to get a feel for the time period. I definitely feel you should elaborate on the characters interaction with different technology in future chapters, too. I like how you set the tone in the first few paragraphs with the protagonist. One thing I would recommend is organizing your paragraphs and dialogue so it flows better; it's kind of difficult to read, because it's all combined. In all, nice start to this chapter! :)
