A fictional short story idea which has many directions it can go. A neo-noir, sci-fi idea that could be expanded upon. Not complete but it is simply an idea. Tell me if you've read or watched anything
The urban world had been thrown into disarray after a new artificial drug was introduced into it's dirty streets. No one on the streets can trace back the drugs origin, it was almost as if it appeared from thin air. Members of an illegal underground drug ring are puzzled about it's ingredients as they begin to lose business. Studying it's makeup and even trying to make some of their own they had no success as buyer's began to feel ill from their homemade version. A variety of scientific labs cannot even analyze it. Who would have thought the mysterious drug came from a secret sector of government officials, testing the public in a twisted experiment. An experiment which would come to be known as the " Copperwire Project". The substance effects make the user's very peacefull and mellow as they ingest the white pill. But then after it wears off they are often sent into a fit of rage. They become unstable and dependant upon it,and without it they are tense and stressed. The group of government agents often introduce the drug into the city then for a short time and then stop. Making it's user's go through an emotional roller coaster ride because of the substances highly addictive qualities. Also the drug could be used in excess with no chance of overdose. The cities users switch to heavy drug alternatives which don't give the same feeling and leads to many deaths. Violence, gang wars, and deception takes place as the city erupts into unrest. People of higher social class and reputation begin consuming the governments pills. Policemen, lawers, reporters, judges, and councilman. Corruption runs throughout and has become the majority, and only a small dwindling population within the city remains clean. Among these people is a middle aged detective trying to solve the problem and find out more about the drug. And then the riots happen....
Pretty cool! I definitley want to see more development towards the setting and characters, but so far I like the plot. I love how you described the drug as giving the user a temporary sense of peace, but then puts the individual into a rage and makes them distressed. I think this is particularly important--especially since so many people search for a moment of peace in a world where there's constant pressure. In a way, this "Copperwire" drug is able to heavily influence--not thousands--but billions of people beacause of its effects; and, it leaves the user in a worse emotional state so they become rapidly addicted to obtaining that peace again. Come to think of it, I could easily see this story becoming a futuristic dystopian or post-apocalyptic, where the drug completely takes over the world and people need to take daily/hourly in order to remain functioning individuals and keep society peaceful. Anyway, I can't wait to read more and see where you take the story! :-)

No problem! I'm really excited to read more of your work. :)
Love it; this is rugged, raw and realistic.
I’d like to see more, your style of writing is magnetic, draws me in, if I had fillings in my teeth I'd get that weird metal taste.
You must use paragraphs, we all need to breath once in a while...
