Mindless InspirationA Story by Following_ChildI felt like writing, so I sat dome and wound up with this.Noise… It's beautiful music that fills your body with joy, it's the laughter of children, the familiar voices, and their sweet words. She crept amongst the mossy stones, coolth on her feet, cooling her hot body, the gentle breeze filled her lungs with the familiar scent of soft earth, dew, and pine. Every detail etched in her mind from the past. Her feet knew the path-the air, sound, and sights she recognised. Rich memories flooded her mind, peaceful, happy, good things of old. But something seemed off, she couldn't shake the feeling that something dark was lurking in the shadows, watching, waiting… This forest was stiff, with no traces of life, no birds singing, it was dead. It was now a cold copy of a magical. sacred place. A false, deadly facade, with no soul. But she realised too late. The trap had worked. The earth beneath her feet crumbled, collapsing into itself. She struggled, her fingers bloodied from all of the jagged rocks, her nails snapping and bending to the pressure from the coarse soil, as she fought for her life. She wills her broken, frail body out of the hole after an endless fight against gravity. Her last ounce of strength used to roll onto her back, her lungs stealing all the oxygen they can. Her lump of a body was exhausted. But in this world, she knew no rest, the enchanting, forgiving place she had known from another life, filled with innocence and warmth was gone. So she pulled herself onto her feet, her eyes glazed over, and began stumbling onward. With the naive hint of hopefulness, that ignorant joy of a child, that she could never truly loose.
