I will run away

I will run away

A Poem by Folagbade Muyiwa

I will run away

Where are the green roses?
And where did blue sunflowers crawl to?
The heads have decided to grow nails
And the sole of the foot have chosen to be hairy!
The gates now have authority,
While the pens have succumbed to dumbness
And the sword just got broken!!

Imagine!!!
We have decided to hang around in this coarse stage of play,
We have broken the walls of each other's hearts at this time of harmonious irregularities,
We have waltzed into each other's soul in this era of sweet man-made catastrophe of substantial extent,
We have permitted intimacy in this atmosphere of unwanted jests!!
And we are in love in this white brainlessness

Everything is just colorfully anomalous

I will run away with you
