Tree Stump

Tree Stump

A Poem by flyingfree
"

a natural grave for a fallen giant

"
A memorial to living history
Still rooted deep within the earth
Rings to read, of years of past
The only proof of what used to be
King of the forest, grandfather to all
In an instant, hacked down with merciless violence
Towed away in pieces at human mercy
A story in and of itself
Lost dreams and growth contained in remains
Now merely a seat for passersby
