Summer BreezeA Poem by FlyingBerryFish
The soft summer breeze Pushes past your pale
face We sit in silence in
a tight embrace You take my hand in
yours And hold it tight We run through the
ancient forests With the roaring
ocean behind us I look up to the
skies with sadness and regret Who says the moon
will shine on us tonight? Have we gone too far? Will they ever
forgive? Once you were by my
side But is just an echo
of time, as I watch the stars implode Will I see you once
more? Or will I lose you forever as the world is still Who knows what
tomorrow will bring? There is but little
time left to borrow As I say my goodbyes
to the roar of the ocean And the chirp of a
bird I close my eyes to
see a world I hold dear I see a boy, not much
older than I He whispers three
words that will travel through time I hear a distant bell
as it chimes far away The laughter of
children as they play I open my eyes to see
death and destruction I walk and I walk
till there is nowhere to go I stand on a hill top
watching the UN earthly glow The soft summer
breeze ruffles my hair I look back with
regret and will never forget Of that one summer
love But as time goes on I
will forget the voice of laughter and the smile that rivals the sun But my love will stay
strong for that one handsome boy Who forever stole my
heart? One day we will be
together once more But who knows if the
sun will rise tomorrow? © 2013 FlyingBerryFishFeatured Review
