Deserted Heart

Deserted Heart

A Poem by Flutterby aish

You are so unpredictable, like rainfall in a dessert

Desired by the land...but never expected....

And one fine day just like any other

When the sun is beating down survival

Monotonous decades feel the change...

As Light is curtained by the veil of clouds....

Burning silence rumbles with thunder

And down come the drops

As purity merges with ancient stories,

As the land cries tears of red,

The mirthful wine satisfies

Desires of love long held.

The plants that once did lie dormant

Come out alive once again

Flowers bloom at the touch

Of manna dew in the form of rain

Unexpected it comes...

And too soon it goes....

Leaving the land craving for more

It seems the dessert has learnt to survive

Without those little drops of life

Yet it waits for a thousand years...

Just to feel that touch again,

Of Cold against hot

Brilliant against worst

Need against satisfaction

Blessed against cursed!

You are so unpredictable, like rainfall in a dessert

Desired by the me..but never expected!

I think is great. You really capture why we are so infatuated with moody people. Mr. Darcy, Mr. Rochester, Etc. this is why they are so captivating their hot one moment and then so cold the next. It keeps the women who love them coming back for more of that moodiness. Writer's Block? I do not believe it, you did a wonderful job. N.

Thankyou so much for your kind words.
I love the repeated phrase, it feels like bookends holding an entire library of thoughts and ideas up. I also like the analogy of them being like rain in the desert. That was very good and it fits magiacally. I felt and understood this poem completely.

One note: This line, "It seems the dessert has learnt to survived" I think it should be "survive" and not "survived". Just my thoughts. I really liked this poem.

Thank you so much for the review. I did the correction :). And I'm glad you liked it :D
You broke the writer's block. The poem is amazing.
"You are so unpredictable, like rainfall in a dessert
Desired by the me..but never expected!"
I like the strong description leading to the good ending. Unpredictable people are dangerous. Rarely know what they need or want. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

My pleasure and you are welcome.
What a great story-write! I love how creatively you've pen'd up this write. The more interesting thing that I love 'bout the piece's that it's written across the analogy of love that's sometimes, lack of love so sometimes, full of contents/love. Very thoughtful you're with words. Great job! By the way, your choice of words' also very appreciative. Worth reading poetry. Beautifully written!

"As purity merges with ancient stories"

Damn girl, that IS some serious wordplay.

I should've read the poem sooner. Its amazing, I love these lines so much:

Just to feel that touch again,
Of Cold against hot
Brilliant against worst
Need against satisfaction
Blessed against cursed!

Beautiful. And I feel you. :*

Aww love....thank you :*
This is good. I think that there is a ton of emotion that I can feel when I read this. You have some great wordplay, "As purity merges with ancient stories" its fantastic. I can see your brain working and ticking with cleverness. My personal issue was the letter coloring, but it's jut me and doesn't take away from your poem. I just had a hard time reading it with the colors. But I do understand why you created it as such. :) I'm always glad to read your writings--thank you for sharing.

hahaa....ofcourse feeling are very personal. Thank you though.
This- I love this! Words fail me! So beautifully written! The overflow of words is strong, powerful, passionate, craving!!! For love, for happiness, for eternity!!!
Wanting your heart to speak, but it doesn't, you crave for it because you know that is the truth! It's an art learning to speak to your heart! And once you get that, you'll always have your wishes heard and then they are fulfilled!
Great poem! I loved it!
