Hope

Its the only thing that keeps this world going on....

I stand all alone in this darkness

Groping for hope, stumbling and falling over my mistakes,

Feeling the pain of my regrets as

Repentance  flows out from the wounds of my flaws.

 

Tears fall on the ground,blending with dirt, appearing like blood

So lightly the fall,

so silently

my shallow breaths engulfed in the silence

as I stare into the oblivion of hopelessness

 

No reason goo d enough to give me strength…

To rise and move ahead…move on.

So lost …. These eyes.

So dead….. This soul.

 

But suddenly,

I see light.

A face plain blank, now frowns.

Those eyes once lost, now search.

I look up and gasp.

A breath caught in my throat,

Lips parted apart in awe of wonder.

 

Tiny billion stars scattered in the sky,

Shine brilliantly.

Each twinkle giving out hope.

Each little speck winking at me, giving me a reason.

A billion candles lighted just for me

Such that, strength finds its way back

And hope reaches out its hands

To pull me to my feet once again.

 

The enchanted light sent by those billion sparkles of hope, heals all the wounds,

Dries all the tears.

Regrets become lessons and flaws become strength.

As, I follow my commandments to live a renewed life.

So that one day I may shine

and may my glow conquer someone else’s darkness

Once again treading  the path…

Lighted by the stars!

Author's Note

Stars give me strength. Darkness soothes me. Maybe because no one can see how weak I can be...
And in this darkness these stars reach out to me...
This hope is the reason I'm strong enough to face my fears and weaknesses, and not succumb to them!

Hell yeah. This one truly hit home. It was just a few years ago I felt exactly like in this writing. Especially, "as I follow my commandments to live a renewed life" which is hard because life, people tug and pull you in different ways but you have to stay true to yourself. One if you stay true, you glow does help conquer someone else's darkness. It happen to me that my glow blessed someone else and it makes it all worth it to live by your commandments. A million thanks for sharing this lovely writing. N.

There is always hope ma'am. Without hope there is no reason to live, frankly, no reason to die either. Life leaves behind wounds but it's how we take them that matters. We can live in the past, Reopening those wounds or let Time heal these wounds and look at a better tomorrow.

I loved the last stanza. You have really hit home with this one :).
