School Life

Some or the other day 

People used to say

School life is the best life

The one you are living today

I never really believed

Demented creatures these must be

Be up at five in the morning

What life is this they see

Carry those heavy burdens

Your shoulders all in pain

If this is what they call life

Then they certainly must be insane

But who knew a time would come

When I would regret my words

Today I sit and repent over

The moments i forgot to cherish before

This I wrote for the people who forgot that school life is like a blessing in disguise!!!!!

oh, if only i could go back in time, knowing what i now know.....school would be so much different for me than it was. thought of then as a burden and a bane, i would use it to my advantage this time around and try to date every girl i never asked out and make great grades and beat on every jock who challenged me. thank you for this wonderful fantasy induced by your poem! well done!!!

Most of us learn too late. I was lucky. I enjoyed my days in school. I left for the Army a week after graduation and saw none of my classmates since. Good wisdom in the poem. A excellent poem.
