Homeless Death

Homeless Death

A Poem by Molly Anna

 He sat

Alone.

Befriended by you,

At one time.

His hands are cold,

His heart is warm.

Your memories live on

To him.

No cardboard he bears,

It’s your ring he wears.

He watches the stars

And remembers

When

You held his hand

And

Ignited his heart.

Before the lies,

Before the cheat.

Your fire went cold

When it all went wrong.

Pause.

No tears he cries,

No hurt he hides.

You’re in his home,

he’s all alone.

The door that shut

His tired feet out

then,

Shut out his life

Now.

Did you think of him?

Resume.

Snow trickles

Temperature

.

.

.

Drops.

His hands are cold

His heart is warm

You’re in his home.

He’s all alone.
