Pathetic FallacyA Poem by TrecIt stood there: the scarecrow to scare off those crows. And the crows were frightened but they knew it was stormy. So they used their patience to wait and wait for the end of the scaring of the crows. In this time, they discussed the arts, politics and advances in science, and to make it seem more elegant, they did this all over an afternoon tea. After the afternoon tea, the crows were disappointed. They believed the storm would rip apart the scarecrow and that its pieces would scatter across the field, but this never happened. Instead, the scarecrow was just… there, waving from side to side as if it was trying mock the crows. Furious, the crows demanded the storm to become more vicious. So again they used their patience to wait and wait for the storm to gather its power. Unlike before, the crows used this time to discuss their hatred for the scarecrow and… for - the storm of course. The storm which, surprisingly, had not decided to listen to the crows and in fact became weaker than before! Sadly, the crows never made it past the scarecrow. Maybe the weather wasn’t using the crows’ thoughts and ideas, which they had discussed, like the crows intended. © 2016 Trec |
