The Orphan.

The Orphan.

A Poem by Theresa Hillstrom

The Orphan.

You are alone.

You live in this place they call "home".

You're hair is a mess because they don't let you shower.

You're always starving because they don't care.

You try and smile but deep down, your soul is broken.

Parents come to see whom they can take away from this hell.

They come over to you.

You look up, your eyes brighten up.

They smile down at you and wrap their arms around you.

You burst out in tears.

They pick you up and take you home.

You're finally free.

You are now apart of a family.

Enjoy little one.

You deserve it.
